So I got my Sidewalk in October, and it’s spent over a month in the shop so far. Frequently I come out in the morning to a dead battery. The dealer can never recreate the problem. I’ve jumpstarted it, towed it to the dealer, and left it there for weeks at a time they agree that there is a problem but cannot find the problem. We replaced the “Body unit” because sometimes even though the automatic headlights were off turning the key on would flash the headlight. Has anyone seen or heard of anything similar? I’m going crazy I love my Mini and just want it to work.

 

Sounds like lemon law time.

1+ years with my MCSCa and no problems like that.

 

If it's not fixed before they stop shipping the R52 it will definitely come to that. I have driven the R56 and I prefer my R52 so I've got to have this resolved before they no longer exist. Today they found that when it's unlocked the interior lights turn on for no reason. It's still intermittent, but at least they can recreate it now.
