Sure enough, the sunroof section opened, releasing the dazed Peak out into the chaos she has caused. "What just happened? Holy sh*t, did I black out?"

Fully admitted her own F-up. She stared blankly into the scenes of movements all around with concerned (though not known prior) neighbors. Damages were surveyed, 4 parked cars were hit, 2 of which were really bad, then there it was, in the middle of it all, the mightly little happy Mini, sadly sitting idle there in its unnatural position, under dimly lit street lights.

Questions were asked, routines were followed... responsibilities compiled..... Now what, she wonders.... now what....
You KNEW you didn't have insurance???!!!

You KNEW that you were sleepy???!!!

You KNEW that your friend(s) offered an alternative to driving home, yet you DECLINED???!!!

The ONLY thing that would **** me off more would be if you ADMITTED that you had 1...JUST ONE...DRINK!!!

You're damn lucky that no one was seriously injured. Sure, the owners of the vehicles that you hit will probably get their repairs under their uninsured motorist coverage, but be prepared to be taken to court by their individual insurance companies for reimbursement of damages.

You DESERVE to have your license suspended for this act of sheer AVOIDABLE stupidity!

Insurance is there to protect against accidents...NO ONE plans for an accident...and now your financial situation is going to be royally ruined for quite awhile.

(puts on dad hat) I have to say this was completely irresponsible and reckless of you to do. Thank goodness you didn't kill yourself, or worse, somebody else. What were you thinking?!!!

Since your insurance lapsed, who's going to pay for those damaged cars? The owners?

Look, I'm not the type to typically rant about somebody's mistakes in middle of their misfortune and I'm sure I've made plenty of stupid mistakes myself (which by some stroke of luck, didn't lead me into a situation like yours). However, for some reason, your story has struck a chord with me this morning. Perhaps it's because I have kids who will some day be old enough to drive and have to make decisions like yours. I just hope, in some way, I give them the ability to make rational decisions when it counts the most.

You might think I'm being heartless, but I'm actually feeling compassion for you and your situation. I'm just upset because it could have all been avoided. I truly hope you work things out and that something like this never happens to you, or anybody on this forum, again. Good luck and stay safe.

100% agree D.D.

Well said, the last thing he needs to do is confess to a Felony on a public message board. Hopefully this will be a lesson learned!

I am sorry for your loss.

Why did the car flip over on its side? From the impact?

Hey, slam me what you may with all your reasons. It's not like I don't beat myself up for all this as I face the aftermath. You can not possibly be imaginative enough to come up with anything else I can ponder my regret upon. I'm not here to make excuses. I just stated what happened. However, I am glad to be of service in provoking some emotional responses, which may or maynot be helpful to each of your lives.

We all make mistakes. Do listen to wise people's advice. Difficult thing is to figure out who's wise and who's not. (Sweet words are most likely not, but bitter ones aren't always either) And remember to learn from your mistakes.

Being a female, having someone driving you home isn't(and shouldn't be) a first choice either. Especially if you are in a position where you may be taken advantage of. I'm sure you were concerned about leaving your convertible as well. And to say "I'm too tired, so I won't go out...", that's difficult especially when friends are knocking. (I've had my shares of being dragged into bad situations). Hind sight is 20/20. I would've gone out and so would've most people here. There's no need to kick someone when they are down.

So, my advice is "Next time, find a safe location, call your family and close friend (becuase you are a woman and this world is full of scums), let them know where you are (also makes for a good alarm), and do take a nap.". An hour or two makes a big difference.

I do hope you fix up your Mini. If anything, it'll be a good reminder, and a good conversation.

Alright, I said, I don't mind the criticism. As I stated, I was just telling & sharing a story. But apparently a couple of you needed to go further and personally attacked me. Guess what, I'm NOT going to resign. (that was a mild joke anyway) and I'm going to throw money at getting another new one. I'll then be driving around all over the place. And when I see you, I won't wave at you.

And she provided you an excellent service. Print this thread out and give it to your kids when they are old enough.....

I just hope it won't be because you were too tired to notice.

Peakness, after hearing that no one was injured....have you considered selling the car as is, where is? If so please PM me with information regarding location, mileage, loan or lease payoff, etc. I have business associates in California that can look at the car for me and I can flatbed it back to Ohio on one of my trucks.

I think it's time to lock this thread. Personal attacks are not acceptable no matter what the reason.
