I live in England and I like the thought of getting cruise control for my MINI when I order it but I have no idea how much it costs. I doesn't say on the site even if you goto "build your own mini". Can anyone Help ?

Here in the US cruise control is either part of the Premium Package which includes a sunroof, automatic climate control and the multi-function steering wheel with cruise control. The total price for the package is $1250 US, or you can order just the multi-function steering wheel with cruise control for $350 US. I don’t know if that helps, but it should at least give you an idea of your cost in the UK. The convenience of controlling your radio via the buttons on your steering wheel is worth the $350 alone as the controls on the radio itself are rather small, the cruise is just an added bonus.

In the US you will get the Cruise Control when you order one of the packages OR just order the Multifunction Steering Wheel (MFSW) like I did without any package. Do not pass this up. Best additional feature the car has to offer because of the volume and channel control buttons for the radio and CD are on the rear of the wheel.

Call your local dealer or contact MINI UK directly. US pricing and options packaging are different from the ones offered in the US market.

My parents bought my Mini as a sort of surpise. Cruise Control is the only thing I wish I had (to avoid tickets on long journeys). I called Mini of Nashville and they informed me that you either bought it with or you don't get it.

Anyone know any differently? I really wish I had it.

Cruise control can be retroffited....for a price of course. Dealer can charge you anywhere between $500 and $700 for the job.

Another consideration is that #1, the dealer has to be willing to do the retrofit and second the technician needs to be very well versed on the procedure to avoid creating problems.

When you retrofit the cruise control, you also get the steering wheel mounted stereo controls as part of the kit.

I agree that it is easier and much cheaper to order it from factory either as part of the "Premium package" ($1,250) or as a standalone option for $350.

The MFSW is a MUST option in the MINI, period.
