Jeremy... that's all fine if you have all-season tires... and it's true that all-seasons are "enough" for DC, year-round...

However, I am not satisfied with the "jack of all trades, master of none" approach. I want performance tires for the warmer months... and since they simply aren't sufficient for winter (including DC winter), I have to have a second set.

If I'm going to pay for a second set, why bother buying all-seasons for the winter when I can just get snow tires and have the best of both worlds?

Simple as that.

The moral of my story was that, in 3-5inches of ice, my all-season run-flats were able to, with the help with DSC, keep me in a straight line in agressive driving. Showing the power of DSC.
