Interior Lighting

Since I just got the car home today..... I had to go out after dark to see the interior lights in action. Wow. I really like the orange glow a lot.

It's an 06 MCS. I was lucky enough to find a leftover. HyperBlue/White.

You're gonna want some colored LEDs in the footwell and some extra puddle lights when you see some. Sorry

the lightin in the mini sure is nice. but like yo'sdad says. need some light down there. instead of buying some LEDs.
i just bought a tiny 9LED flashlight for $6 shipped. VERY useful.

I'm talking about some serious but very inexpensive boot, footwell and puddle lights. Here is what I mean.

Don't know if you have noticed, but your interior lights turn off automatically after you shut the doors or start the car. These don't burn when driving unless you turn them on.

These are only a suggestion. You need to see them in person. With photoshop, I can make them as dark or bright as I want in the picture, but I have tried to make them as realistic as possible.

This is fantastic. Can you pls explain how you achieved this. I have a 2005 MCSc and would love to have it look like this at night. Thanks.

See the link in my sig - look for the "Boot Light LEDs" link. LOTS of details on the trunk lights and lots of other glowy-type MODs there.

ImagoX is the LED ghuru, check out the thread he lists to get a great start on whatever lighting mods you want to do. LEDs are great because they are simple to wire, don't get hot, consume very tiny amounts of electricity... hard to mess up.

I agree (about the "hard to mess up" part - I'm hardly anyone's guru). LEDs, so long as you take a few basic precautions and plan your install ahead of time are a very inexpensive yet visually striking MOD for any beloved car. Do a little or do a lot - it's totally up to you. I love that. Plus, if you use the stock lighting power supply, everything can later be reversed as well, and with the LEDs off they're invisible.
