Foglights

I recently bought a 2004 Mini. There is the space for the foglights in the front of the car. Does that mean the wiring is there also. How hard would it be to add the foglights.

Where?

If it is possible would the dealer be the best bet?

I think I have read in other threads (do a search...) that the wiring is not there and dealers will not retrofit it into the spaces...

Do a search and you should come up with a thread where I posted the part and cost to have fog lights retrofitted on my 03MC. The wiring is not there, the new harness has to be added. I cannot remember all the details now, but it was over $500 for the dealer to do the work.

Running your own kit may be the best waya to go, but integrating it into the existing toggles is the question.

Check eBay. There's a dealer in Texas that sells the kit for $100 cheaper than anyone around here. The harness is not part of the original car. Everything is included with the kit along with the toggle switch which fit in the panel under the wheel (at least on my 04).

I would purchase a Bently car manual first. If you take your time and understand how cars are built you should be fine. Just read and re-read the instruction. The instructions I received with the Mini gauge kit (from Mini) were wrong. They showed connecting the power wire (with fuse) to the lighting wire and visa versa so I'm sure I would have fried something.
