Help! Seat Back Adjustment Problem

I had to recline by passanger seat as far back as psooible today, and when I went to adjust it back to a normal seating position, it would not move using the regular adjustment lever. The only way it would adjust forward was with the rear entry adjustment on the door side of the seat. Then, when I leaned the seat back, it would only catch in the full recline position, so I am back in the same situation.

Is there any fix to this short of thaking it to a mini dealer (still way under warranty.) It is just a pain having to arrange taking it back if there is an easy fix.

Thanks all knowing mini owners.

Roger

I know some 03's had a problem with their seats, where you had to FORCE them to come back from a recline, but I'm not sure if this is the case in 06's also, so...I would wait for a 2nd opinion.

There is a fix. I had the same problem on my 06 MC. It is stuck (obviously). I watched the service guy at the dealer sit in the seat, move the lever as if to recline, then push back hard until it snapped free. No problem since.

Thanks - Terry!

I just followed your instructions and saved me a trip to the Mini dealer! A 2 second fix.
