Sure to please both the practical and the nostalgic, Mini is set to debut the long awaited Mini Clubman at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September, according to a recent report by Motoring File.

The vehicle was originally to be called the Mini Traveler after its 1960s predecessor, but Mini went with Clubman name, first seen in 1969, to avoid copyright battles over the Traveller badge.

The new Clubman will feature vintage Traveler features such as dual hatch doors and a single rear door on the passenger side of the vehicle, both designed for easy access to the interior. Special colors should be featured on the new Mini Clubman, including Hot Chocolate and currently under review, Java Grey and Sand Glow.

We should see the first official photos of the Mini Clubman sometime this summer, but the car will likely not hit U.S. showrooms until Winter 2008. Pricing and technical specifications are not yet determined.
