Extended warranty and service, worth it?

My 04 MCS is at 47k miles. I had extended the service to 50k for $400 before it hit 36k miles. Looking for extending to 75k or 100k miles. The dealer has quoted $2300 for 75k and $2800 for 100k miles to extend both warranty and service.

Did any one had any major repairs after 50k? Is the extended warranty and service worth it?
I had supercharger bypass valve fail at 42k and that was covered under 50k warranty. TIA.

I purchased an extended warranty for my 2005 MCSC (right before I totalled it-got all the money back though for the purchase). It cost be $2800 to extend it an additional 3 years/ or to 100,000 miles (whichever came first).
I purchased it because I had 1 issue per year with my convertible top, and at about $3000 to replace the roof skin I wanted to be covered.

If you arent going to mod your mini, it can be worth it. If you buy t then dicide to mod your mini to a state that the dealer wont even look at it then its a waste....

$2k sounds more like a downpayment for your next car...

That price sounds pretty high ... my friend paid the same for his $50K Benz for an extended warranty.

After having an extended warranty on an previous car I'll never buy another. Unless it is a warranty from the manufacturer. Our issues were minor and after the vehicle sitting at the dealer for 3 days. The dealer had to send an estimate to the warranty company. After 3 days the warranty company replied saying the problems were not covered. The problems consisted of a faulty sensor, worn rubber gasket on the window and a seatbelt latch that made the airbag light come on. Things the manufacturer warranty would cover.

Heaven forbid if it had been something major. Well. Maybe it would have only taken two days for them to come back and say they weren't going to cover it. Just take that money and put it in an account to save if you do have problems. IMO, it would help you more there than in the pockets of these aftermarket warranty companies.
