We've had a little rain recently, but nothing heavy. Our MINI sat in the driveway all night and first thing, when driving off and engaging the clutch for the first few miles, I got what I can only describe as slippage - similar to the feeling of wet disk brakes drying off. Anybody else experience this?

Never felt this before with a clutch - we didn't go through any puddles and it certainly wasn't raining when we left. Very weird. My wife thought it was the wheels slipping when it did it to her several times the other day, but this is definitely something different from wheel spinning/slippage.

Did you get any squeaking when this problem first came up? Squeaking/creaking when initially engaging the clutch?

I let my car sit while I was on vacation and it rained a few times. When I first ran the car, it would do this for the first 5 engages. The next day it did it for the first 3 or so. 1 week later, no such noises.

I'm at 9,400 miles. Going to tell my SA about it when I take it in for a check-up.

 

Oh no... not the infamous "Orrrttt" clutch problem again!

 

Not real loud, but yeah, I'd say it squeaked/creaked initially until engaged for the first 4 or 5 engagements. Coming back from the store, it didn't do it.
