Problem Free MINI!!!

Are there any out there besides ME?

Am I going to be the only person in the world without a problem with their MINI?

I am talking about driving and maintenance only!!! You get a flat tire, well that happens, a light bulb goes bad, it gets replaced, a wreck, and it gets fixed and don’t forget a battery may go dead. It wasn’t the cars fault, things just happen so life goes on. I’ve had all of those happen to me and I do not blame the car for it!!!

I’m talking about a TRUE problem free MINI. Is there anyone else out there besides myself?

I have a late date 2002 build MCS and it is my daily driver in fact it is MY only car.

I drive my MCS constantly, which includes 3 to 4 major road trips a year, some to an area in the Tennessee North Carolina area. It is driven hard. In fact as a daily driver I drive it hard. I’ve race it at the local track events. It has survived 3 major hurricanes sitting on my driveway, I have no garage. My MCS has never failed me for any reason and I have never had to go to a dealer other than the normal maintained contract. BTW my local dealer is a 600 mile trip.

I want to know if there is anyone else out there other than myself who has one of the MINIs that was built on the indestructible assembly line, not the pouter and whiny one so many seem to be built on.

Good to hear How many miles do you have? I have a 2002 but have only owned it since September but it is good to hear that you haven't had any issues.

nope, my AC went out when i mentioned mine was problem free....

my dealer tried twice, still can't fix it. not that i use AC, but kinda nice
to have it working unless i yank the damn unit off the car. i'll take it
in again this Spring when i get the coolant flushed.

i want to note that i did cycle it every now and then and the problem
is a leak somewhere.

I refuse to post in this thread on the grounds that I'm slightly superstitious.

No sndwave you're not the only one with a problem free MCS.

I've got an early build (May) '02 MCS Electric Blue, White top and mirrors.

As my signature says, it's a plain jane.

No cruise, no auto A/C, no heated seats, no leather, no washy this or washy that, no 6 cd, no IPOD, no nothin'. I added a flag to the roof, a Remus exhaust underneath, and a cup holder inside.

My windshield has not been replaced.

It's got 35k miles, with almost 30k of them put on in the last 18-19 months.

It's been to Florida from Ohio numerous times, US129 once, it's been to Virginia beach a couple of times and the Outer Banks a couple of times.

It's an every day driver year round and resides in the garage.

My passenger side window motor quit a few weeks ago and was replaced free of charge. Oh well.

I just stuck an Optima Red Top in the boot a couple of weeks ago before the original decided to die.

For me, it's been problem free and a blast to drive......Les

I've had issues with mine, all fixed. Poco, a 03 Cooper, driven daily, and long trips hard, now has 75+k miles on him, nothing has gone wrong in 50k.

So not problem free, but I have no intention of getting rid of him, he's still young.

Mine has been great. All usual maintenance items, nothing unexpected. First windsheild lasted 100k miles.

We bought our '04 used and our AC didn't work. the dealership had to replace control unit and all of the flap motors. Nothing really major than any other car wouldn't have.

I bought a new '06 in October. Glad to hear you have had such good luck with your MINI...hoping mine will be problem free as well.

And that is all I want to say...I am slightly superstitious as well!

My '06 only has 7100 miles on it, no problems. My '03, during its 35K miles had a few warranty repairs, but was generally great.

good to hear in your case , although mine is a little different...
ac works fine when charged... its got wat you would call a "parasitic leak"
if it was on a battery.

we put a dye in the gas so hopefully we can find it. but again, i
dont use AC in my MINI so really not an issue for me.

Of the four MINI's we've owned (2ndMiniac's 2005 has over 30,000 miles from two cross country trips - 29 states) the only problem with any of them was a broken motor mount that was quickly replaced under warranty during scheduled servicing.

Problems

Very early build date (1/16/02), 58k miles. Only a couple of small issues fixed under warranty, drivers side window motor and 1 new windshield. Oh, and a battery, all under warranty.
