Service schedule question

Sorry if this was covered before.

OK, here's the run down. I have about 1,800~ miles left on service count down display until the first service. My dealer said to bring it in anytime when it's under 1,000 miles. So I'm thinking that's gonna be in 2 or 3 months.

Now, I understand I should bring it in for service every year regardless of what the service countdown says. I did that last July(2006), exactly one year since I took delivery. At the time, they only changed the oil and the service countdown was not reset.

So, let's say I bring it in a couple of months and they do the first service. Do I bring it in again in July?

i wouldn't.....when i was reading the intruction manual, they said that the oil only needs to be changed every 7,500-10,000 mi. i thought i was a lot of milage but w/e. if you bring it in, in a few months, they will chage oil, replace filter, ect. they will not need to do it again in july

YES you should. Read the maintenaince manual that comes with the car.

UNLESS they happen to bleed the brakes, MINI requires that the brakes be bled and refilled every two years. That would by July, 07 for you.

That's what I thought too. I'll mention that to my dealer when I take it in.
