I'm pretty sure that is the convertible MINI that slid and hit a snow bank on some test drive or group drive or something. Simply flipped over, no one hurt. I think they just righted it and drove again. But I could be completely wrong...haha

About the high performance summer tires...they don't work well in snow. All-season are decent but if you drive in any significant snow, always get a set of snow tires. Its the smartest thing to do.

And of course even snow tires won't save you if you drive like an idiot, as that flipped Cabrio demonstrates.

I couldn't, it was stuck 3 feet from the garage with no traction.

And remember that in mainland Europe, there is no such thing as an "all season" tire. For instance, by law in Switzerland you must have winter tires mounted on your vehicle by a certain date.

To those reluctant to invest in a winter tire due to infrequent snow, consider all the low temperature rain turning to ice that happens and remember that summer performance tires lose a lot of traction in temperatures as low as 45 degrees. All it takes is one time for your tires to lose traction...

And one more: It just makes sense, as an all-season tire is a compromise twice a year...not as good in the summer and not as good in the winter (as the season specific tires, natch.)
Be careful out there
