I suspect he probably meant "Most of the cars that have them are 'S' models". I just double-checked on the configurator, and they are available for the Cooper, but at $1400 plus installation and painting, I can see how it would be a more-common option on the 'S' than the Cooper.

No wonder you got a $38K car. That dash alone is $1300.

I had it too and its beautiful. The emblem is embedded in the CF and its not the cheap CF stick stuff.

IMO, there is no better MINI dash but I'm biased I guess but looking at dashes, if the car were NOT stripped, that is the dash I would get again. It goes perfect with all MINIs.

By far, most do not. Expensive bling that adds no performance

What I do not understand is why anyone would try to be a poser by making a MC look like a MCS. What is the point?

Some lady in the OL, a while back, was looking to buy the JCW logo that goes on the grill ... to be cool.

As to the turbo whoosh. He heard what he heard ... I see no reason to jump on it.

Yes - it's one of my favourite parts of the car. Got it dealer-installed along with the CF hood scoop, hatch handle and mirror covers. I got the CF downtubes, shifter ring and cupholder rings from Morristown MINI and installed them myself.

20/20 hindsight, I would have gotten ALL of the CF bits from Morristown and installed them myself. I think they're only asking $990 for the dash, whereas I ordered mine from the dealer at the height of the carbon-fiber shortage, so it was actually closer to $1600 installed.

My only disappointment with the JCW CF parts is that they're carbon fiber over ABS plastic, and not all carbon-fiber like my motorcycle parts. But I guess I wasn't expecting any big weight savings in the first place, so it doesn't matter much.

Classic, a vendor here, gives a great deal on parts. In the future, you should check them out.

The bonnet scoop is easy to do. The mirrors, just another cap, lots of PDFs on Motoringfile that show you how to do it. The rear handle is a bit trickier because of the wiring but doable.

I just had the bonnet scoop and tailgate handle thrown on when I happened to be in for service

Now all you need is the steering wheel!

The thing that surprised me about the hatch handle was that the CF one came with the license plate lights, boot switch, rubber switch cover - everything. I would have thought it would just be the CF strip to replace the painted part, and that you'd have to transfer all of the electrical parts over.

I like the looks of the JCW fat wheel, but thankfully I haven't felt it in person, so I can tell myself for now that it's not worth the money. I'd get the CF wheel inserts if they came out with a version that worked with the MFSW buttons and didn't have the JCW logo on the lower insert.
