My MINI mini tree...

I add cars to it every year as I find them in stores...added a cabrio tonight.

I started putting this up back when I didnt have a MINI..hoping Santa would take the hint and put a real one under it.

I LOVE the lights IN the MINIs...gonna have to try that!!

Where did you get the santa hat? Nice Mini BTW. You will find Cincy Mini very good at servicing your Mini.

Here's mine, the MINI lights even went up before the house was decorated! Found the lights at Walgreens. They don't show up too well in the pic, but really look great at night.

But the BEST bling will come on Christmas day when Santa delivers my new chrome wheels!!

I had so much fun with this process last year that I was thinking about it today - I can't wait for Thanksgiving so I can get my decorations back up in my MINI! Anyone else plotting their holiday bling?

I was researching some new additions...lots of neat stuff out there!

Reflective magnetic "lights"

Has anyone thought of using regular lights plugged into a 12V to 120V inverter plugged into the electrical socket in the cargo area? Amazon is selling a 100V inverter for about $25.

Just curious.

I thought about this. The battery-operated ones worked well for me, but it would be a lot easier to not have to pop the hatch to turn them all on and off.

I need to go test my strings of lights. That will determine what I do, ultimately...

I found a plastic Christmas "tree" that mounts to the rear window with suction cups at ACE Hdwe. It has lights set into the "tree" and the plug fits nicely into the rear accessory socket. I used it last year and it works very well...the nicest thing being that the lights do not drain the car battery when the car is shut off.

Picked up some of the famous WAlgreens LED lights today, and added a little wreath and some lights inside my car. These will only be lit when the car is parked, mostly in the driveway to compliment the rest of our outdoor display.

I'm annoyed by how my new plan worked out. Last year I used several strings of the battery operated lights, and it worked well.

This year, I used a power inverter in the adapter in the boot, and plugged in a string of the "garland" lights (clear bulbs) that have just a zillion lights bunched on the string (I was going for a little more bling factor). I got them all rigged up in the back window, which was a pain because they have to route back to the inverter. Doesn't sound hard, but once you start doing it you realize why it's not the easiest thing.

Got that worked out, went to do the side rear windows...too much power for the inverter. It shuts off.

Bah. Shoulda stuck with the battery-powered ones! I might be headed to Walgreen's this afternoon to get some new ones (two of my old strings from last year died, which is why I tried this new route).
