A car is like a girl friend.......

some you'll want to marry and some you won't.

good luck in whichever you choose.

Haha ok, well I will post if I feel the need to but the turn this thread has taken makes me want to leave it alone at this point... I will still be following this thread for a while though out of curriousity. Given I have a bit more of an understanding of the situation, if I were you I would wait until the holidays are over (as they are always stessful) and until you feel better also. Decide if you want to sell the MINI, even with input from your biased MINI friends and either get a beater car (that can take the abuse of your current bad luck streak haha) and when it improves either jump back into a MINI, or just go out and buy another car that you know you will enjoy. Im buying a Jeep this week to go along with the MINI (so the MINI doesnt have to see any snow) so even if something like that could be an option worth exploring. That way if I am driving to work in the snow and bang it up prety bad (which is way to easy in the new england winters) I wont feel bad about it.

What you do with the car is your own choice. I'd suggest letting your health get better first. And I'll throw in the I'd keep the MINI. But in the end its your choice and you got to do what is right for you. (But remember your time in the Explorer as such is life not in a MINI) Ethier way stick around on the boards.

For as long as I have been on NAM, which hasn't been for very long, I have noticed that this is not the place for sympathy. Many of us have had problems with our MINI one time or another. Yes, I do feel bad that you have had such unfortuniate circumstances with your MINI, but it would've probably happened to you with another car that you would've modded like you did your MINI. I had "luck" like that when I was in high school with my sportscar and it will get better. I do hope that things change for the better for you.

BTW Back @ ya!

Mechanical problems arent the issue here... Mike is just frusturated over the fact when he takes the MINI out something bad ends up happening whether its with the car, or him. Or at least that has been the trend the last few months. Its a tough and frusturating situation, always is when things never seem to go your way.

Hang in there, man... this sounds like some of the "luck" I had with my '02 Jeep Wrangler Sport... All these things between 2003 and 2005 when I finally got my MINI:

Two months after paying off my $24,000 TJ, an old lady made an illegal left turn in front of me at an intersection. 40mph and I crunched her good. $8,000 damage to me on a flawless perfectly maintained vehicle.

A chick in an SUV merged right into my left bumper. $800.00

I hit one deer = $1,500 to the right bumber/fender area

Another deer (or other larger sized animal) ran into my left side (cosmetic damage)... just the POINT of it...

A TURKEY (unfrozen I might add) flew into my passenger side windshield denting the frame and caving in the window (into my lap more or less).

So, the moral of the story is apparently some vehicles are prone to bring some of us very bad luck at some point in our lives.

Hang in there.

Maybe it is really good luck in disguise - that turkey could have killed you! It stinks to deal with, but I guess having bizarre things happen to you is better then the really bad luck where you really get hurt.

Hey Mikey ....

Actually, your car "may" have given you strep throat if you had a passenger in it that carried the germs and you caught it driving the same air

OK, I was just trying to make you smile When your sick ... the world looks

Actually, with all due respect to ImagoX, sheet does happen (and I can say that because my dog did just die) ...

Do whatever your heart tells you too ... I did. Your young, there will be many more cars to come.
