I have a VERY new MCS and love it. Quality car !!
My concern is any problems that I may run in to. I am aware that no matter how "great" your vehicle is, they all fail at times. Any help or advice would be nice.
Thanks

Change the oil before 10,000 miles.
I did it a couple of times already and
have switched to Mobil One.
Welcome to MCOL....

I have had a trunk that rattled which was fixed under warrenty in about an hour, and a cold start problem, which was also fixed under warrenty that I think is fixed on the 2003 models, and last week my engine was leaking antifreeze, then started to steam. I figured out what it was, whit was a leak in the coolant resivior, and if that happens, don't shut off the car, because you will "work" the engine, just turn on the heater to full blast, and start moving at about 25 or more MPH, to cool down the engine, your dealer should fix it under warrenty like mine, and mine took about an hour. They will just replace the coolant resivior. Good luck, have fun motoring.

P.S. This is the best car I have ever had , and I had a corvette before this, and this is a lot more fun to drive, and it is almost as fast. Remember, that my problems were only minor, and were fixed quick and under warrenty. Make sure you break it in correctly too. Oh, and another thing you should know, is that there have been many people that have had accidents in their MINI's and posted on this website. One guy said that he was going about 40MPH, and hit a 2ft in diameter tree. The tree fell on the roof and the car was toatled, but the guy walked away with nothing but a scratch. And if you live somewhere like I do, without a lot of MINI's, then be prepared for a lot of looks and questions.

About the best advice I can think of is to religiously read MCO. Most every problem that may come up has been mentioned, along with some pretty competent recommendations and solutions. What's the old adage? "To be forewarned is to be forearmed". May all you do is read about problems and your motoring be trouble free!

I agree the best advice is to read MCO religiously (or shoudl I say evolutionarily, since I am a card carrying Darwinist?

Same here! Owned an 01 C5. Just as fun to drive but not sure about the "almost as fast" comment, though. In the twisties maybe
