R50/53 2006 MINI Wholesale vs MSRP
2006 MINI Wholesale vs MSRP
So I was asking my Dealer about trade-in for my 2006 MCCa for a 2007 MCSCa. He said that mileage doesn't matter (mine has 5k), only the model year of the car (I'm sure this is not always the case for high mileage cars). Since my car is now one model year old the deduct off wholesale price is $1500. What is wholesale price I asked and this is what he gave me:
(Wholesale/MSRP)
2006 MCC $19,755/$21,950
-ZCW Cold Weather Package $270/$300
-ZPP Premium Package $1,260/$1,400
-ZSP Sport Package $1,260/$1,400
-205 Steptonic Automatic $1,170/$1,300
-318 Interior Body Color $180/$200
-346 Chrome Line Exterior $225/$250
-522 Xenon Headlights $495/$550
-5AA Rear Fog Lamp $90/$100
-Destination Charge $550/$550
-Training Service Fee $82/$0
Total from Dealer $25,337/$28,000
So my trade-in would be roughly $23,837. But since mine is a convertible and it is the "off-season" an additional $1,000 would be deducted until March 2007. So bottom-line: drive mine until March 2007, trade-in for $23,837 and get a 2007 MCS convertible.
What do you think?

Is there some reason you want an '07? I believe that only the hardtops are converting over to the new bodystyle/engine. The 'verts will be staying the same for the next year or so.
If your motivation was to get the new turbo engine, you might want to go research the timeline of release on www.motoringfile.com. I'd bet that it will be spring or summer of 2008 before the new cabrios get released.

I want the current body style and don't really want the turbo. In fact I would take a 2006 off the lot if they had one that had the options I want and the color. My MCC has been in the shop for the past week plus and I have had use of their loaner MCSC - I never really appreciated the difference between the MC & MCS until now. So that is what got me to thinking about a trade.
