R50/53 Help with programmable options
I agree, don't come into a forum and get an attitude when people don't answer your questions exactly as you like. We're on here to try and offer our experience as public knowledge, hence the concept of a forum. If you feel that explanations are vague or unclear, then ask someone to clarify, don't cop an attitude towards the people who take 15 minutes of their life answering a question that you could answer by reading the owners manual or calling your dealership...
Chill out...
Chill out...

From the original post:
What's with the 'tude, dude? You asked for suggestions and thoughts. You got some. You didn't ask for a list of the available options, though that's apparently what you wanted (and that was provided as well.) If you don't understand the nomenclature on the document, ask specific questions and you can get answers.

Looks like someone should have RTFM.
I do not live in LA or anyplace like it (thank God). I do not want my doors to lock unless I lock them.
I am going to take it to the dealer as I said in the original post.....I'm curious just how much he will care about how "you" optioned your car? It will go like this.......Me.........."Some guy in LA said everybody should set their locks to do this" Dealer............"Let's figure out what you want for your car" Geee why didn't I think of that! Oh yeah.......I did!

Take a look at the following to help you find your own answers.

thankfully to all ideologies, scientific theories and the green party, I don't live in LA either...just outside of it. MaxN and I are still guilty by close proximity..but MaxN and I don't have to worry about locking our doors since we live in the 3rd safest city in the US. U.S. Safest Cities
We're a close knit, sociable community...we're here to help one another no matter where we're located. MaxN, since nobody thanked you..I'll thank you for your positive contribution.

Even with everything turned off, you can get out of a locked car with a double pull on the handle. The auto-unlock is really for rescue workers to get into the car.
. I don't have the auto-lock turned on, as I want to get out fast should I need to, and not worry if the OBC has had time to unlock things. I went hard into a ditch last June, air-bags did not deploy, as I did not hit anything, pure luck, as the ditch was full of trees, car was not running when I came to a stop, guess all my brain could deal with was steering with a blown tire at 40mph on a gravel road, and the brake pedal.

I like this form and I'm learning tons of good info. Not to mention associating call signs with tones in everyone’s response. Quite honestly keeping mental notes of who’s who and how they interact and treat each other.
But, what I see as I read more and more~~
Many motoring people helping people. I also see in many threads the negative attitudes or quick to judge, without knowing he full story. Maybe I'm not use to the mentality here. But, it has given me grounds to be sure I'm clear with my questions especially in this thread.
I'm here for sharing MINI information and meeting motoring friends along the way. I don't need the negative side of life.
My MINI is a happy place. Well, once he/she is actually born - I hate this waiting process - but, its has to happen (:
Motor on!
