Driving in heels? I can't even drive in sandals. Shoot, I've fallen out of my sandals, and they are flat!
You can imagine how I walk in heels...

I fall off my feet on a regular basis. Even when I'm barefoot!
I actually drive barefoot more than anything else.

Oh, wait, I forgot, we'd NEVER do THAT. (( Looks around for a cop, browsing the forum )) Ahhh... in fact.... the MINI's speed and handling has been GROSSLY inflated in reviews. Why, mine will barely make the speed limit on the highway. Why the heck do I keep this slow-poke car, anyway????

I leave my heels at work in my shoe drawer, and drive in my flat skater shoes. I don't want to risk an accident, and i shift a whole lot, so i like to be comfy.

Why anyone would voluntarily wear a pair of those Medieval torture devices is beyond me. Just say "no" to heels. Your ankles and your back will thank you later; your bank account will thank you now! LOL

Actually, the legality of driving barefoot may vary state to state. I asked this question to a state trooper in a driving class (which I attended due to a speeding infraction - not MINI related) and they said that in fact, "no it isn't illegal...that is a myth".

I believe driving topless could also be extra dangerous/special in a mini due to the great visability they offer!

Actually, only in VERY few states. In my state it is not against the law. Of course my years and years of going barefoot and wearing flip flops, combined with an aversion to pumice stones means the soles of my feet are pretty tough..... yah, my husband hates it...

I usually wear sandles or flip flops. They get caught on the floor when I shift so I usually just kick them off. In the winter, when I'm forced into footwear I prefer to drive in thinner soled shoes so I "feel" the car.

I got my heel stuck in between the plastic side panel and the floorboard today on my way back from lunch and thought I was going to have to come to work missing one heel and Mrs. Skurvy would be donning a new purple accessory.

:impatient

Very bad... very bad...
Pics please!

Nah, my kids all draw better than me. I'm afraid I have to take full credit for the stick figures. I can throw a pot but don't ask me to draw anything!

only 1/50th of the time

I can't remember for sure off the top of my head something in the TN, KY area is what my memory keeps telling my, there is a whole thread on barefoot driving and just what hte law in relation to it is. And honestly I'd rather someone drive barefoot and be able to control their car than for a sandal toget stuck, causing the brake pedal to lack function and consequently cause an accident. It may not always be the safest choice but unless barefoot driving were impeding the drivers ability to operate the vehicle in a proper manner, I don't see how it would cause a driving problem.

duely noted I'll leave the 12" soles at home, no being 7 foot tall for me
