Can I change a 1 week old order?

Hi again,

After my "Xenon" post from yesterday, I've decided I want to change my order ( drop Sport pkg, a la carte the DSC and Xenon ).

My MA called me to say - order is locked and cannot be changed.

Order was placed last Wednesday: 08/30/2006.

My owner's lounge inquiry reports status as " On Order ", and no production date assigned.

I do believe I've read posts where people said they changed their order right up until 1 or 2 weeks before it went into production.

Any help appreciated to see if I can either get an ? unwilling ? MA to figure out how to make a change, or bypass him if that is necessary/possible.

NAM to the rescue.....

Thanks!
Mark

Just tell your MA, "John (or whoever) at (name of another dealer) said he could order what I was for me. That should wake him/her up.

The Mini Owners Lounge is always out of date. If you want to know for sure, call Ask-Mini.

It depends on how far away from the production date you are. The best thing is to call ASKMINI like Gromit suggested. Trying to motivate a recalcitrant MA is asking for trouble - they could screw up your order and then, you are facing even more aggravation....

Mark, call 866 ask mini. As long as you haven't hit status 150 you can change your order. So, arm yourself with info from ask mini, then call your MA back. If necessary, talk to the manager. You could always cancel the order and reorder. I changed my order 2 or 3 times but in Socal we have a long order to production time. My last change just made it in time. Good luck.

It's in production

Again, tnx. for the great info

Wow, the car went INTO production THIS morning at 6:50 AM.
So: No changes!

Now I have a month to arrange selling upon arrival: Dealer removed - S-Lite 17" All Season Run Flats - while they are worth the most ( new! ) ,

and get INTO a 16" Wheel/Tire combo - and minimize my additional expense.

My dealer was happy to swap out my tires/wheels for me, just swapped with another MINI on the lot.

Then went aftermarket with some wheels I thought I liked and then went with some I DO LIKE (SSR Comps). As for tires I think I'm on set #6.
