Has anyone ever seen a diagram showing what company owns what in the automotive world?....Especially one showing partnerships as well as ownerships?

Im counting on the MINI community to once again show that we have the resources here in the community to answer any question posed under the sun

I would add:

• Porsche is in court seeking complete control over VW now http://www.porsche.com/usa/aboutpors...&id=2006-06-23
• GM is looking for a Japanese partner (I believe)
• Ford is seeking to dump Jaguar. They are too heavily invested in SUVs/trucks and recently recognized the need to got crossovers and cars but need $$$

 

GM is in talks with Nissan!

 

So GM owns 10% of Fiat who owns Ferrari.


What gets really interesting is when you take that and add where the cars are made and where the parts come from. THe Camry is American made but the for Explorer techinicallly is a foregin car as 70?% is out sourced.

 

VW owns Lamborghini, has a partnership with Audi/Skoda
Ford owns, Lincoln/Mercury/Aston Martin/Land Rover/ Mazda/ Volvo/
Toyota/Lexus is a brother company
Nissan/Infiniti is a brother company
Fiat owns Ferrari
I know theres more but i cant think of them
