Don't know about the rest of you NAMsters...but here in the Mo. "Mts" I have more than enough winding hills and turns to make me and my MINI very happy! I love the manual transmission and the compactness of the shift pattern. (compactness? Is that a actual word?) I just want to know how many of my fellow NAMsters love the curve of the road as much as I do. Freeways are fine but the curves...the curves!!!

I pretty much avoid the interstates as much as I can . . . except to avoid Cerrillos Road (aka the Miricle Mile aka Strip Mall Strip aka where you find every restaurant chain and gas station and supermarket and wall mart and home depot and borders and everything). Definitely love the mountains and curvy road. My new favorite, Ca SR 120 East of Lee Vining. I haven't done it in the MINI yet, but its the first road on which I've gotten my wife's Saab airborne (oops)!

@ 117k and only 20% on the highway - I know what you're talking about!
I drive through the southern part of MO (Springfield to AR border) about once a month ... very pretty country. But, for great driving adventures, come to CA!

Funny you should say that. I intend on making a trip to San Fran next year to visit my aunt. I want to take the mini instead of flying. Any tips on roads out there? P.S. I'm only about a 30 min. drive north of Springfield. Hope to catch ya out on the road one day!! I'll be the one waving like crazy!!

Dix - let us know when you will be here and I'm sure you can tag along with one of the N. California clubs - it seems like something is happening every weekend. Post it on the Regional Forum - under Northern California. I look forward to meeting you.

Unfortunately, I fly back to Springfield on business, grab a rental and drive to Harrison, AR. Wish I could take my MINI but time / cost is of the essence.

Thanks for the invite. I'd really like to attend one of the clubs. I'll make certain to post it on the Regional forum before I head out to CA.

I live in the hills...

south of SF... Maybe that's one of the reasons I'm on my 6th set of tires with only 73000 miles on the car!

And dispite having the rep as the "wacko" state, we can be pretty friendly, so post away and find out your options!

PS, for those of you that don't speek Californian, if someone says "let's do lunch" they pretty much told you to ***** off, but moreso in SoCal than NorCal!

Matt
