Day 1 observations.......

Howdy gang!!

After a fun filled day and night of motoring....here's one mans humble observations.........

1.Keeping this thing under 5k on the tach for 1200 miles?? Good luck.

2.I honestly have not seen the halogen headlights for the MINI, but the Xenons are INCREDIBLE!! A huge swath of light in a big arc in front of you.

3. The cloth interior is more slippery than I expected....may need the seat belt locks........

4. Still trying to find that "Just Right" seating position, without too much tilt in the height-adjustable seat, etc....

5. I expected a bumpy ride though I kept the 16 inch wheels....but I think the runflats will soon be Winter only!

6. I'm no major audiophile, but the stock stereo sounds just fine to me. I'll mostly be playing burned MP3 combo CD's anyway.

7. And...most of all.....THIS CAR ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good night all!

I like number 4, with the "right" seating position...i had my MINI since October '05 and i STILL don't have the right seating position...it'll be perfect today but tomorow it'll feel weird and uncomfortable, why? i don't know...anyway, glad to hear you're in love with the car and happy motoring!

Day negative six

Congrats on the new toy! I'm about a week behind you in starting the big adventure.

Foamy apparently arrived in town today. My big dilemma now is whether to peek. I could wait until the unveiling of the shiny, finished product late next week, or I could drive over there and walk to the back/storage lot to click some pictures and assure myself that the car really exists.

Until next week, I'm just entertaining myself on the web site and buying detailing products. Klasse this. Klasse that. Meguiars fancy wax. Little sponges. 303 plastic stuff. Sticky blue play-dough to rub all over it. Looking forward to the big 7/29 detailing frenzy!

You should suprise yourself by waiting until next week on the official day..DON'T CHEAT! Believe me it'll feel good, it'll be hard...but it's good...

just wait till your sig-other wants to drive... and keep driving because the seat is now set for them, instead of you.
beware of this tactic. i experienced it many a weekend when my long distance boyfriend would visit. he said that the best way for him to "learn Atlanta" was to drive and keep driving... mini thief.
