The mini is my "fun" car... So I would have kept my 04 Z06...

Exige is too small... You would probably keep the Z06.... It's awesome...

lots of great choices

Since my MINI is my daily driver, if it were not around, I'd probably want something like the new Civic Si ... but that's because I also have a "fun car" for weekend duty (new Corvette). If I drove only one car, and the MINI were not available, then I'd probably step back into a Porsche or Subaru. Then again, I just saw a Honda Fit Sport on the road yesterday, and it reminded me of the Hondas back in the mid to late '70's (which I always thought were counter-culture cool). And, we have the Smart "ForTwo" minicar coming in America in 2008.

Porsche 356 (cabriolet or coupe) or a Boxster S.
On the more affordable side probably an Audi A3 2.0L turbo

A Miata or maybe an Elise. A classic Mini would be fun too!

I'd love an Exige but realisitically I wouldn't be driving one yet.

I would've likely ended up driving a 1982 E21 IS that is in near perfect condition (had two dashlight bulbs that needed replacing)

Reliable easy to maintain and total cost of car less than a JCW kit.

I was looking at a subaru wrx sti or the explorer sport trac. Don't need an SUV anymore, my parents bought a H2 and are looking into an H1. They are huge gas guzzlers but when you take them off-road, they are a total blast!!

Yeah they are. My dad had one for 3 years back in the late '90s. I was just a little kid then, so it was badass to have the dad that had an H1. That thing was a tank. In fact when we were building our house at that time, he made each garage stall wider, just so he could park in either of them comfortably. He really like it, but in the end it wasn't all that practical and ate gas despite the two gas tanks, the diesel was loud and the handling was rough, it was cool, but in the end it wasn't the "vehicle" for the average daily driver.

Since we really didn't NEED Mini, I would only have our 2000 Subaru 2.5RS.
