Hello All,

Sorry--another leather question! I have narrowed my choices down to a Pure Silver MCS with either the Black Profile leather or the Lapis Blue leather. I think the black would probably look better with the Pure Silver, though I could still be talked into the Lapis, even though my gut says it's a little busy with the PS. Is there a comfort/quality difference between the Black Profile leather and the Lapis Blue leather?

Thanks (again!)

Craig

Craig, I have the Lapis Blue. I have found that the black portion of the seats (the boltsters) do not wear very well. The bolsters are wrinkling a lot and have small scratches. I think thay are having problems with the finish on this color. The dealer is replacing both of the seat backs, so I cannot complain about service at all. I love the look on my indie/indie car, but worry about the longevity of the seats.

Craig, don't wanna ruin your hopes, but Profile leather isn't available on the MCS, only the MC! (profile leather is the one with all the little bumps!)

I dig the look of PS with Lapis, but on that note, I ordered almost the opposite, Indi Blue with Space cloth!

Good luck!

Ooops! I guess I was wrong in my choice of words. I guess it's just Black Gravity leather I'm looking at. Or whatever the standard black leather for the "S" is called. Thanks for correcting me!

You can get the leather with the bumps on it in the MCS. It's the leatherette I thought.

No. Actually the leatherette looks more like leather than the gravity leather, IMHO. See it for yourself.

Leather should be more comfortable than the leatherette in theory...and for $1,250!

in my experience, the leatherette is grippier on the booty, is easier to maintain, but lacks the suppleness of real leather. The real Leather's used in the MINI have a nice feel and touch, but seem too supple and soft, causing you to launch off the seats in hard corners and braking, compared to 'ette or cloth.

Obviously, it's a toss up in a straight out debate, because the final choice is entirely dependant on your needs (outright feel and comfort versus velcro-seats).

Cheers, and good luck,
Ryan
