i guess. for example, my MCS is low 300's for 6months if under regular
coverage (mine's currently under the weekend car coverage which is
less) while the 06 civic is more like in the mid-400/6mnths range.

in that respects, Maz3 might even be a 'better' deal when overall.

i don't see too much of anything about MINI's over there in the 8thGen
Civic forums...

nothing that i know of. it's more concentrated by inexperienced crowd (which is
expected) but nothing too obnoxious about anything... lots of great
kids that like cars.

I drove a Honda Civic before purchasing my dream MINI. I held off for a long time because the Honda was paid for and it was very reliable.

Now that I have the MINI, I have no regrets! Nothing has more smiles per miles than a MINI!

You're talking about NAM ???

Haha, frankly, that's what I feel about THIS place! I have the feeling that for a lot of the people here, the Mini is the first "cool" car they've owned. Nothing wrong with that, of course.

-Roger (who is by no means "old school", but who's first cool car was a 16V GTI in like 1990 - so I'm in my 2nd decade of playing with these little things)

I'm in Canada (Calgary). If you want something pratical and cheaper to run, go with a Civic, hell, even the new VW Rabbit is a better deal for all the equipment and room you get.

If you want to have the most involving driving experience for under $25k Canadian, its hard to do better than a Mini. Personally I have no need for a MCS, the cooper is plenty fast for how I drive it on the street. (redline if you really need to get going)

The new civic and rabbit are both a little faster in a straight line and have the same/better equipment than the Cooper classic and have more room as well, but the Mini is the first car where every single corner brings and smile to my face, its just so stable and chuckable.
