R50/53 Who's Liking Their DSC?
I have DSC, and get miffed when it kicks in at takeoff and in choppy turns. I see the problem mostly as the fact the DSC also incorporates the ASC and you can't have one without the other in this implementation. Straightline takeoffs and barking the tires when shifting triggers the antispin/traction control feature which has no bearing on yaw control. Theoretically you can still have the yaw control active while limiting the use of traction/spin control.
Turn your DSC off when you are working on burnouts and carving the twisty roads.
I love having DSC as it will enhance the stability of the vehicle when faced with unforseen road hazards such as a pool or water or oil. A very nice safety feature for long distance cruising or letting a novice driver test out the MINI.

im no expert, but from my 'lay' perspective, it seems that the DSC is handy for most of the time (assuming that the driver isnt highly skilled and can control sideways situations on his own), the main problem is with it bogging down when accelerating from stand still. The DSC is supposed to stop lateral instability so the problem is the prevention of wheel spin which comes from the ASC+C. Surely someone who knows something about this sort of sortware must be able to trun off the ASC, while leaving the DSC on? or maybe mini could change the software so it becomes active after a certain speed is reached....ok i dunno what im talking about!
