My 02 MINI MCS has one month left in warranty. It runs fantastic. Minor issues in four years of ownership. Can you think of anything that I can ask the dealer to check out before it becomes "out of pocket" expenses? I got the newer coolant overflow tank two months after getting the car. About six months ago, I got a front crank seal and dipstick tube seal (PCV valve not working properly?) It's a very low serial number car and I plan to keep it a long time. Extended warranty is very expensive. Any ideas?

Check for RUST on the under each door seal and the rear hatch - supposedly an issue that is cropping up all of a sudden - seems to form at the point where the robotic welds were created.

 

Check my post under the Beneath the Bonnet. I am thinking of having an independent mechanic look at the seals and brakes before I let it go. My 2003 MCS has had LOTS of issues, and I'm not sure that I totally trust them. I've spent a considerable amount of time checking the service bulletins, and going over my car. Good luck with your car.

 

BTW, the dealer warned me that they wouldn't touch the car if it was a hair past 50K! Makes me uneasy.
