I had the same problem, so instead of varying my speed I cruised in different gears (4th, 5th, & 6th). The important thing is to vary the engine speed.

I assume you'll be on I-80 for part of your drive. You could always stop at the salt flats and see how fast she'll go

I'm not far from you (Elkridge). I haven't joined the DC club yet, hoping to see something in our area as well. Start a club and I'll join it...the Charm City Coopers

Yeah, it's funny when I bought my brandy new '02 Jeep Wrangler Sport there was no "break in period" - my dealer told me to drive it as hard as I wanted to... "Modern vehicles don't need a break in period."
Well, with my $32,000 MCS, I was NOT about to fool around; I followed the break in rules to the T. I am happy.
http://www.bluemarbleyearbook.com/ads/m-cooper-md.pdf look at the brochure; that's my MCS during the break in period. Note the speedo at 88mph (with the bulldoggie - and surfboard - hanging just above). :-) Yep, that's my thumb too! lol

Let's start one! I've seen quite a few driving around. I haven't seen any wavers though

At my parents' place in NoVA, I had people waving left and right!

I finally got up close and personal with another MCSC JCW...well, pulled up behind her. No wave, but it was early, and who can see out the back window with the top up?

Wow, have we hijacked this thread or what?

Hahah yes. I am actively taking part in the hijacking.

Yes, I am serious... I'll whip up a design or two. What can you help with? I can offer server space, graphics design skill(z), PHP, MySQL, AJAX goodness. People will be selling their cars to buy AB minis, JUST for a login on the website :D

I can help with organization...somehow. Let me start a thread and gauge the interest here...we are talking about a Baltimore group and not "astroblackmini.com", right?
