My b/f came with me to test drive a manual MC since I had no idea...a week before delivery he took me for for my first three lessons in his 2003 Nissan Frontier on long stretches of uninhabited road in an industrial area of Irvine.

When the time came for the ride home from the dealership I still made him drive it since we were taking the freeway home Driving to work the next day, I stalled once, and its been awesome since then! Good luck!

 

Funny, for me it was the otherway round. Gorwing up in Zimbabwe, you had to take your driving test in a stick.. and most cars are stick. The first auto I drove was when I got to the States and man that was weird. My MCS is a stick - and what a great tranny, though my girlfriend does not like how you need revs to get it off the line in first. I have to drive it out of the carwash as the people there can't get it moving!!

 

Congrats on learning the dying art of manual transmission driving! I have posted here several times before about teaching several of my teenaged bicycle teammates to drive manual. It's a great joy to see them "get it" and improve their technique. My prize pupil was telling me that after learning in my cars, he can't wait to get his next car, with manual of course!
