I did not get the rear fog before Gunner was killed however I will order with Gunner II. Even though it would not have helped in my accident I believe it is good for night and inclimate weather.

I don't use my rear fog all too often, like the others I LOVE that I have all the toggle switches and no empty one! Bad design I think!

The reverse light was moved to the two tail lights starting with 7/04 builds. There is a retrofit kit to change the older models to the new configuration, but I think it would be relatively expensive because it would include new tail light assemblies. Also, earlier models were not prewired for fog lights so you if you wanted fog, you would have to run a new wiring harness up to the BC1 computer.

You may have noticed that in your 02, the top bulb in the tail light does not do anything. That is actually the fog lamp in the earlier models but it does not operate because at the time, rear fogs were not legal in all 50 states. Many people have modded the tail light to make the top bulb function as an extra brake light (it is a simple jumper connection).

If you've never been in a serious fog bank, you just can't appreciate how much its worth.

I have been in fog banks on an Interstate so bad that I litterally could not see 5 feet in front of me. The only thing keeping me going was the tail lights of an 18 wheelers.

When the "idiots" come barreling up behind you and hit the fog bank, they WILL see your rear fog light. Then people will follow you through the darkness.

If you never encounter serious fog, then you dont need it

The 02-04 had the fog lights in the tail lights. Great if you want to get someone off your back end. The 05+ have them down in the bumper where the back up light used to be. Now it looks like a lower version of the Center High Mount Stop Light. I havent seen all 4 lights on from the rear. But I would imagine that it would DEFINATELY get some ones attention with 4 red lights lit up!

Couple of weeks ago after the dragon, we drove on the Chrohala Skyway and man, oh man the fog we encountered once we got to 5000 FT wasn't funny at all. We could not see beyond the end of the bonnet and it was thick and all around us...scary to say the least. I had both the front and rear fogs and all I can say is that they work great. A small Toyota pickup truck had pulled over to the side of the road on the lower elevations of the Cherohala (In direction towards Tellico Plains, TN) and as soon as we passed he started to followed us in the thick fog. It seems the bright rear fog light helped them to get out of the dangerous visibility mess until we got to Tellico Plains.

I highly recommend them.
