Heated Seats

Has anyone heard of retrofitting the MINI with heated seats, seen any around? People Replacing theirs? I borrowed a friends Volvo S40T the other day with heated seats and it was wonderful . The last thing I wanted was frozen buns on the way to work (I'm not a morning person).

sweet, now i wonder how difficult it is to skin the seats and install them, and if it is worth the time and $$. Thanks for the link tho.

Hope it works out for you. I used to scoff at the notion of heated seats as not needed, etc, then after trying them out I was a convert and would never do w/o them again

I've done it. My friend had an 04 MCS with non heated cloth seats. She bought some black leather sport seats on eBay. It turned out that they were heated also. We ordered up the kit from MINI, and I installed them. It wasn't too bad if you're ok disassembling the interior of the car.

PM me if you have any questions about the process.

Check around at your local "Car Toys" or similar - I got quotes of around $400 installed for both fronts on the Mustang. . .not too bad if you're not confident about ripping up brand new seats like me!!!

Those on the fence about whether to order the heated seats...

They are truely a life saver for me with a bad back and the Oxycodone runs out.

Couldn't live without the heated seats. It was the one option that I wanted in my last car, but didn't get. They didn't have one on the lot.

Since I had to order the MINI, I made sure that it was a "must have".

On top of that, since the MINI's heater fan is loud, it allows me to turn the temp down a bit and still stay warm without the jet engine running under the dashboard
