Supercharger Bypass Valve faulty after boost and oil pressure guage install
I installed a mechanical boost gauge and oil pressure gauge in my mini and when i went out to test to see how they were working the car went into this "limp mode" as i have seen it previously described. It happened right where everyone else said thiers did, which was around 4500 rpms. The only thing i was thinking is that when i tapped into the line going to the fuel pressure regulator, one of the hoses may have gotten bent after the t fitting and before the fuel pressure regulator. I really don't know what it could be if it isn't that. The gauge was showing it in vacuum but as soon as the boost would have come it shut down on me. Am i wrong in thinking that might be whats wrong with it. I just want to know where to start this weekend. thanks
Hi rharris19,
I'd begin by inspecting each and every vacuum line you changed. Maybe one of those is bent or has a small leak.
If you don't have the VGS (Vacuum-Gain-System) mod, the by-pass valve is in a closed circuit, so it will be ok.
Keep us updated!

OK i got it, it was exactly what i thought it was. The line going to the fuel pressure regulator was bent after the t fitting to go to the boost gauge. Replaced the tubing with some stronger reinforced tubing and that definately won't kink. Thanks to everyone who responded.
