R50/53 another close encounter with the strange...
It seems since I got my cooper a mere 1,200 miles ago, my car has become a magnet attracting strange people to orbit.
Today, I had to briefly swing by a local hospital for a visit with an eye doctor. Finding the lot quite crowded, I had to park Polly (my mini) on the far outskirts near a wooded area. Upon returning to my car, I walked across the lot admiring Polly as I neared her. I saw no one else in the vicinity as I walked. As I unlocked the door, I was startled to find a bald headed man wearing a one piece garmet similar to the one worn by uncle fester on the adams family standing next to my passenger door. I said "hi there" but no response from the man. He just stared at me without blinking. He seemed to look alot like uncle fester, except for his unusually large ears that protruded 90 degrees from his head. I got in the car and prepared to leave. I stowed some paperwork and put on the shades. he began to stare at me through the passenger window for a solid 2-3 minutes without blinking. I sat there thinking "is this guy ever going to blink? As I started Polly, the man took several steps back. He then reached under his one piece garmet and produced a beret which he applied to his head. As I drove away, I looked in my rear view mirror and saw him waving to me as I departed...

yes, many people who have learning disablilties do not have the resources to have a family doctor so they use hospital ERs anytime they need something. They also can find restrooms, water fountains and shelter in hospitals because the hospital is open to the public.
He seemed to appreciate that you were a nice man because he waved goodbye ... but perhaps the wave was for the MINI and not you . . . .
