Programable options.

Today I went with my cousin to the Acura dealer so she can finalize a deal on a 2006 TSX. While the sales person was working on the paperwork, I was thumbing through the brochure. I noticed that the TSX has some of the programable options as my MINI. Such as follow-me lights and key fob opening option. You can even set the interval for the dome light. But with the TSX, the driver can change the settings with the buttons of the steering wheel and the multi-function display at any time. Of course if I wanted to change any of the setting in my car, I have to take it to the dealer and cough up an hour of labor. Oh wells, at least I have rain sensing wipers . But if I want to change the sensitivity, the dealer has to do it

Agreed. It does seem a bit silly, but then again, how often are you apt to change the programming?

My MA told me that she can do the programming and it won't cost me a thing. I would check with your MA if they can do it as well.

There are probably some options I still don't know about, lol. My dealer never told me all the things that can be done; just showed most of the items on board and running.

In a Lexus ad, they say that you can now get many programmable options done... at your local dealer!

So we are not the only ones that must rely on the dealer for those.

The listings are in the Owners Manual, pages 26, 27, 28, 57, 60. There may be a few others as well.
