And just like our TV weather guys )who are rambling on and on...please tell the kind folks how the official Babischkin residence snowfall total is calculated. I wouldn't want anyone to think we are somehow un-professional.

The Official Babischkin Residence Snowfall total is based on the accumulation of snow on the two tables out on our deck.

Next snowfall update at Noon

Don't be I love the snow, although coming on a holiday weekend this is really a wasted storm. Needed to start on Monday!!!!

The 12 Noon Official Babischkin Residence Snowfall update is 8 and a half inches. The Official National Weather Service Weather Observer at Washington National Airport says they had 7 inches at 11AM.

I miss the snow : I am out in SoCal now and can't believe the amount of snow NoVA has had in the past year since i've been gone.

It's cloudy here, rained last week and people freaked about that.

get out your MOON boots!

It's the 2 o'clock update, the Official Babischkin Residence Snowfall Update the official snowtables now have 9 inches of snow on them. No photo update on the MINI burial on this update.

The snowbound are really starting to get cabin fever now.... Tried to bury one of the cats in the snow on the deck. He didn't really appreciate it, I wonder why? He was very amused by the chunks of snow he was kicking around though.....

Next update with photos will be at 4 PM.

Time for the 4PM update, the Official Babischkin Residence Snowfall Total is now up to 10 and a half inches.

The furnitire around one of the Offical Tables are now in danger of being buried:

The MINI is disappearing:

The front end is almost completely covered, snow is piled up above the lower door sill, and the tailpipe is almost completely buried.

These will be the last photos of the day as its starting to get dark. This will also be the last update until much later this evening, the Sherpa guides are here so we are going to follow them over to one of the neighbors' for dinner and some pictionary. Next update will either be late tonight or tomorrow morning......

We've made it back from the neighbors, its transitioned to sleet outside. The Official Babischkin Residence Snowfall total is at 13.5 inches. You can no longer see any of the seets on the chairs around the table as the snow is now piled over the seats.

The NWS official snowfall total at 10:50PM at Reagan National Airport is at 12.8 inches.

The front end of the MINI is now completely covered in snow, from the front it is now a vaguely car shaped hump of snow. On the sides, the snow has now made it 3/4s of the way up the door. The wind has cleared the rear window but the snow has made it almost all the way up the rear bumper.

The forecast calls for at least another 10 inches of snow before the snow ends some time close to 10PM TOMORROW!!!! Pictures tomorrow morning....

It's good to see someone other than those of us in frozen-to-the-bone Canada getting a LITTLE snow!!

I can tell you from this winter's Canadian snow - your MINI won't break in the white stuff. In fact, once you get going the damn car craves the snow and slush. It's a little tank.

Wait a day for two for the streets to be somewhat civil, and go have a blast!!

And next September (before you get socked in again), c'mon along here!

There is a big old drift right up the back of my boot almost to the window....I can't wait to try and get out of here.....

(On the deck outside TJ's room there is a snow drift that almost comes all the way up to my neck....I haven't seen this much snow in YEARS!!)

Thank-you I feel the same way.

We have had snow every day here in Niagara Falls since mid December.
Just get out there and have fun with it.

Oh, and one final complaint...Hubby was completely down to concrete after something like 5 hours of shoveling/digging. Then guess what happened? You got it, it SNOWED again...another 1/2 an inch...I can't tell you how pissed off he was.

Still stuck at home in VA.

Around 2 feet in New Providence, NJ. MINI was safe in the garage. Of course this meant that I had way more shoveling to do. I think next time he'll have to sit out in the snow like every other car!

MINI did give me some good advice yesterday - He said, "NEVER EAT YELLOW SNOW"

Well we got out today, and went out for a drive on what turned out to be a futile search for ice melt....left the MINI at home mind you, and took the (according to some people on MCO) evil SUV instead. The Jimmy was able to get out and navigate our unplowed street with relative ease, the MINI however is not moving I'm guessing for atleast another day. The plows have made 1 pass through the residential streets here, which many residents took to mean that they needed to now dump more snow in the street, go figure. The main roads are mostly down to pavement, and some are even starting to dry out, however most of them are missing a lane or two. Our favorite is the turn lines, many have been cleared until about 10 to 15 feet before the respective intersections, and then the plow operator decided to merge back into traffic, so the lanes start and end well before the actual intersections. There are a few roads where 1 lane is open and clear, and traffic for the other direction is driving on the median, becuase that's what they bothered to plow.

The snow wasn't without it's casualties though, for you rail fans who may not have heard, the snow caused the roof of the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore to collapse, damaging as many as 20 trains. :???:
