manual trans
OR

b)This new MINI that is now unspoken for:
Astro Black w/ Astro Black roof/mirror(s)
PP/SP/CW packages.
black leatherette interior
chrono pack
limited Slip
manual trans

If I recall correctly, your first MINI was silver (or dark silver), so do something different and get (b). :-)

I thought it was electric blue?

In any case, that's a tough call. LSD would be nice if you'd use it, but that chrono pack would be hard for me to swallow. If it was just the color choice, I'd definitely say go for the black! Much rarer.

Get the one with LSD. I have been told that it makes a world of difference if you are looking for performance and/or tracking the car. I hope to find out in the very near future with my delivery tomorrow.

Fits perfectly for ya. When I first joined the MCO 3 years ago, your enthusiasm for this fine lil car spread to me. So in some odd way, you Dennis, are one of my MINI-hero's.

Dennis, it is good to see you back on the frey

At this point in time, I am also seriously considering becoming an M.A. I am soooo ready for a career change (15 years in the IT profession have been rewarding but enough is enough).

I already have started the inquiry process, so hopefully I'll soon be starting in my new dream job and career

Anyway, congrats on your new MINI and have a happy Xmas!

So I am curious ....How does a MA go about voiding his own warranty for aftermarket mods? Or should we sleep peacefully knowing that you are a mod friendly dealer?

Well, I guess it depends how much the Service Advisors, techs and Service Manager like you Can't hurt to work there I'm sure, I've seen other sales guys with mods to their cars that service would never endorse - I wonder if they ever get any flack for it or make them park in the back ?

Good question
I was a customer before I was a MA.
I had no issues at all.... re: mods when I owned my 2002 MCS.
But I must add.... I had no real issues w/ my MCS....
I had the cold start issue early in 2002... and went thru 4-5 coolant tanks which was another problem w/ the early builds. Mechanically my car was rock solid. The quality of the plastic bits were not as good as they are now ...as well. I recommend to NEVER...EVER.... buy the 1st year of a car build ...EVER!!!!!
Hassel was always great to me as a service customer...ALWAYS!!!!. That's one of the reasons I took the gig as a MA. (More important is taht the sales manager for MINI... is top shelf ... the nicest guy you'll ever meet....hands down!!!)
I traded my MCS in because I never keep a car for more than 2 years... so it was time to move on. I now have my M Coupe for 1/&1/2 years.....therefore it was time to let it go & I decided to come home to MINI w/ this new 2006 MCS.
You can only be denied coverage if the mods ... actually were responsible for the problem. I understand that this is a 12 hour discussion ..but you understand my position . I've yet to see an engine/transmission/ supercharger or any major compnent of these MINI's fail because of any of the mod's I will be getting done at Helix13. (yet another a little plug for ya Eric...lol ) If you take care of the vehicle ..it will take car of you. That's my story and I'm gonna stick to it

I would IMHO advise to sleep peacefully cause the MINI is a well built vehicle and..... I trust my dealership.

Hope that answered your ...question

Peace,
D

so what you are saying Dennis is that I should NOT look into trading in my 03 MC for an 07 MCS?

What I'm saying is that....I'm hoping that the 07 build.. is well thought out and well constructed
I would definately trade it in for a 2006.... (I'm already in that club)
The 07 is not the 1st year BTW ... it's an "enhancement"

rofl

That's as politically correct as I can be...presently

That being said... I intend to buiy the 1st year of the 2006/7 MZ4 Coupe.....
(yet another...enhancement)

Go figure........................

Peace,
D

Helix13 Visit

Back from Helix13....

Eric as always....was the professional/knowledgeable/courteous....friend

Seems I have a 1st status....be'n the lowest mileage MCS to undergo the pulley ...transformation.... plus some other bits.

My MCS had a mere 197 miles... when it went under the knife.

Here's what waas done....19% pulley/Borla Exhaust/Helix Intake/Helix Short Shifter/HSport Springs/ H Sport Rear Sway Bar....was the order of the day.
Rides like ....

On to tinting/decals...Sirius radio install.... and some new sticky tires...when the weather... cooperates

I posted a few pics...more to come

Peace,
D
