Feedback: Washington DC Area Dealer Service?

Because I may be accepting a gov job in the DC area, I'm curious as to how the three area MINI dealers rate for service. Schomp in Denver is one fine dealership across the board, and it'd be nice to know that there's a dealer in the DC area that rates as high. Annapolis? Sterling? Towson? Thanks in advance, JB

You should ask this in the DCMM Forum Section.

The moderators should move this post. However, to get you started, try reading the following threads for people's experiences

there are many more but you got to scan all the threads

I cannot speak about Tate, never used them

I can speak about Towson, Probably the Best MA in Wayne. I know he won some award for one of MINIs best MAs.

Sterling is mod friendly (and Towson to an extent) but they are overbooked in service, not enought mechanics but do good work and have gone out of their way for me

Dealers in DC area

Hi, I moved from Colorado to DC area last year. I too used Schomp. I use Tate in Annapolis now since it is closest to me. They've been good, not much on conversation on mods or anything stirring, but they've always gotten my Mini in quickly, fixed it fast and cleaned it up for me...good luck on the move; I wish I was still in CO...

Just had service today at Sterling. Had to do a wheel swap and my MA got me squeezed in. I was happy, they were quick and had a quite comforable waiting lounge. No real work done on the car, so I can not really vouch for the quality. I know a lot of people are real happy with the new SA at Tate - Will. he seemes to be bringing Tate service up. If this thread gets moved to the DC forum, you'll be getting a lot of responses I am sure.

If you move up here, Make sure to join DC metro minis. Fun group!

I just got my car back from Sterling last week for a new top and 10k service. When I scheduled they were about a week plus out. But does not seem excessive to me.

Quality appears to be good and they cleaned the car well. I do not have any mods, but I do have a co-worker that is heavily modded and he hasn't had any issues.

They seem a little over worked when I talked to three MA in the process. But the car was completed when promised, quicker than I expected for a new top.

Depending on where you move to you shouldn't have to worry about which dealer you go to.

Dealers like to play games, if you understand thier method you can get what you want/need. This is the same experience I had with VW. After my experience with my last car (Jetta), anything will seem like good service.
