I been reading that the Bentley Manual is considered one of the best but all i have seen is up to '04 MINIs is there a book for '05 MINIs and is the Bentley Manual the one to have?

 

No (for Bentley) and Yes

 

They'll eventually do an update but if I were them, I'd have held off until I could do 05-06 together since 07+ will cause a total rewrite. My expectation is to see a 2002-2006 manual in another 6 months or so.

Bentley Publishers has their own forum, and the topic came up earlier this year: http://tech.bentleypublishers.com/th...6536&tstart=15. IMO, I doubt that they will release a 2005/2006 revision. I went ahead and got the 2002-04 manual because it covers 95% of the car, even for my 2006 convertible. For issues specific to 2005/2006, I purchased BMW TIS CD-ROMs off Ebay. It appears that much of the information in the Bentley manual was derived from the CD-ROM. However, the CD-ROM is rather awkward to navigate, and the Bentley manual is much easier to use.
