Thought I'd hit a couple of topics here with one post. I see lots of threads about bike racks for MINI's, I chose the Thule roofrack system with Rocky Mounts wheel off bike trays. I did not relish the idea of drilling holes in the roof for the factory rack and all the rear mount systems require too much fabrication for me too. The only caveat for roofracks (and I've used them for years) is to remember when you've got bikes up there so you don't drive under anything too low. For Micahbones, the occasion was my first cyclocross race in two years. It was an unusual triple "stage race" held on the grounds of the local velodrome. Consisted of a short course cross race and time trial on Saturday, and then a longer course cross race on Sunday that actually took you through the velodrome too, very cool! The bike is a Salsa Las Cruces with Winwood carbon fork, Campy Chorus 10 speed drivetrain with RaceFace 42T crank, Campy Nucleon wheels. I came in next to last in the Masters 45+, I'm happy with that coming back 11 months after a broken leg.

Great photos and report Scott, and congrats on your return to racing after your injury from getting hit by a car while riding! Cyclocross rules

I will make sure to post on this thread some Mini/bike/race photos of my own after I take delivery of my Mini (tomorrow ).

In the meantime check out this website for my current cyclocross team. We have one guy, Jon Baker, who has been kickin' some booty at the national level.

Glad to hear that you overcame adversity. Cycling rules indeed, but I have not raced cyclo cross in a few years. More recently I mostly ride on the road and participate in a few tris. But once SpiderX get's better we might go mountain biking a few times. As a former pro mountain biker I need to get at least a couple offroad rides in a year.

My Cooper S has a Yakima unit on it and I love it.
