R50/53 Clunk shifting into Reverse on 2006 MC
Clunk shifting into Reverse on 2006 MC
I depress the clutch, shift into reverse, hear/feel a clunk as the tranny goes into reverse.
if i depress the clutch, wait 2-3 seconds, there is no clunk as the tranny goes into reverse.
Someone posted a good write up on the this before (something about waiting for something to spin down when the clutch is depressed before engaging reverse), but i can't find it.
Could someone elaborate or show me the link to the previous discussion?
Other than that, 2.5 weeks into ownership, the car has been fun. i am having the paint around the driver side headlight looked at as some unpainted primer is visible on a portion of the raised sheet metal around the headlight "ring".

I had an 05 MC with that same thing. But it is no real problem. It happens on all 05- 06 models because they recieve a new tranny. What it is is the tranny has no syncro for reverse, so you would have to wait a few seconds, or put it into a foward gear before reverse. They made it with no syncro to keep costs down. But like i said it is no real problem for your car so dont worry about it.
