Defog problem - what vents blow?

Hi all. The first day of snow, and the windshield fogs up. Using ACS seems so easy, just press defog button. Lots of noise, AC on, rear defog comes on too! Except windscreen remains fogged. There is lots of hot air coming from the oval shaped vent over the speedo, which basically blows into the passenger area, but no air from the long vent up by the windscreen. Isn't there supposed to be lots of air blasting from that long strip? Could someone please tell me how theirs works? Thanks.

Yep, you should have lots of air from the defrost vent. If you don't, there is a stuck flap in the system and you need to have the dealer take a look at it.

On my 2003 with ACS, I have found the air temp in defrost mode is still controlled by the temp setting on the ACS. This is contrary to other cars I have had where the system would go to full heat in defrost mode. Also, make sure the AC is on in order to dry the air coming out of the defrost vents and clear the fogging quickly.
