Mini Cooper Dealer

My remote key wont operate,why wont the dealer order me a new one,car is under warranty.He wants me to drive it to him for evaulation.Im not about to
blow a whole day driving,back and forth.

Its not the sensor,because one key operate perfectly.Second key nada

A friend of mine had a similar experience and it turned out that the key was fine. There was something wrong with the sensor inside of the car, which inevitably had to be replaced. It might be worth the trip to the dealer rather than buying a new key that also won't work due to a faulty sensor. You never know.

I've had the same problem with a dealer (but VW not MINI). They insisted I drive the 30 miles so they could visibly look at an obvious problem and then said "Yep, it's a problem but we'll have to order the parts...come back in 3 weeks".

Sheesh
