We absolutely LOVE our Hot Orange MINI, but when we were looking at the literature and website and deciding what color we wanted, Hot Orange was our last choice.

On our first visit to a MINI dealer, there was a Hot Orange MINI in the showroom, and we fell in love with the color. To us, the pictures we had seen of that color didn't do it justice. The Motoring Advisor told us he heard that comment frequently. He also said that they had not had anyone order one, but if the dealer had one delivered to them, it didn't stay on the lot more than a couple of days before it sold. (Come to think of it, we didn't order one either. When we were ready to buy, our dealer had one on the lot "waiting" for us. The Motoring Advisor said it was funny, they had it on the lot for almost a week-the longest any Hot Orange one had ever stayed on the lot.)

My wife likes the color for another reason: we had that color in our wedding. That was all it took for her to want the Hot Orange MINI!

The bonnet stripes were my idea. My wife isn't very fond of them, but it is my MINI (and I have her permission to say that). While I love the color, I just thought that the 'bonnet' needed something to give it a little character and tie it in with the black top. So far, the comments we have received are more in favor of the stripes than without.

It's true. The web is no place for a final color decisions. I deal with digital post production for commercial photographers for a living.

I don't know exactly when I decided to go with the orange. I went to test drive just any Mini at the beginning of the year, looking for an entry level Mini because I thought it was the cutest thing I've ever seen on the road. After driving various models for fun, in a matter of a half an hour (seemingly all of the sudden), I had my mind up that it HAS TO be 1. Orange, 2. an S, and 3. Convertible. The rest is now history. Lucky for me that the dealer had all kinds of models in all the colors. I get to choose it from a reality.

I did weavered towards the dark blue convertible at the final stage of ordering, but weavered back because I felt like Orange was more appropriate for the West Coast where I am rather than the Blue. (It would look best in a cold & slightly snowy winter in a metropolitan city at nights) I am a sun worshiper that grew up in a tropical country, ORANGE it shall be

I'd be right behind you in line for an Orange Hardtop. I pestered MINIUSA for months asking if orange would be available on hardtops in 2006. I had one response telling me to buy a Pepper White and have it painted orange. :impatient I finally couldn't wait any longer and purchased a Hyper Blue 2005 MC. I've thought about having orange striping made for it...

Indeed, they are chrome stripes, but are actually molded to fit the MINI. Originally, the kit comes with one stripe, in two pieces that travels from the front wheel guard, stops at the door hinge, and then continues with a smaller piece at the rear wheel guard.

I ended up getting six kits and only using the front longer pieces. I wanted to make it a bit 'beachy' since I live near Malibu, CA. Luckily, they were on sale.

One of the thing I love the most about owning a MINI is the ability to customize it. I rarely see two of the same MINI at any MINI meet.

Motor on,

It's this coming Sunday October 23 -- The guy requested a "flock of minis" to escort his wedding party. I'm going to help 'em out.

What are the options do you choose? Why Orange? Does that has anything to do with your persnality? I know it has to do with mine

OH YEAH!! I read your thread!! How freaky. The silly thing was that your body shop had leftover orange paint? Are we known to be reckless, or what?

Congrats on getting your car back. Please forgive the innocent bambi.

I agree, especially with metallic colors.

Interesting very interesting. Not that I would claim to be a pro at it, but I think people in general would be surprised at how much good post processing can help bring out the potential of an image.

Must be the lighting. It's Hot Orange.

I don't think it's the lighting. If it there wasn't a serious levels adjustment in photoshop, then I'm sad to say I think that the camera's sensor is really struggling to register the red channel correctly.

DickDavid: I like that. Also cool to see the ASA JH6's on it.

Hmm...I like the concept, but I'm not sure how well it will work with the metallic green. You could probably pull off this look with an orange vinyl roof if you don't want to jump in head first with orange paint, though. (Personally, I'm thinking of getting orange mirror caps for my PW/B)

I saw some pics of BRG racing MINIs with yellow roofs and yellow-painted trim, though, and they looked sweet to me.

Orange MINI

HAL just got back from the shop. He chose to bite a deer who did not get out of the way.

Repair was great and the color of orange even matches. Shop was concerned about the color match but they and I were very pleased with the outcome.

Just ordered more chrome for Icarus. I just couldn't pass up RSpeed's 15% off of items that where already on sale. Got a bit of glare from the wife but she'll easily get over it when it gets here and I put the stuff in.

•Fred - Do you have any pictures of the damages before the repair? I'm curious.

•Hey Gr8Force - Which chrome parts are you getting?

Toggle Switch Guard Sets, Dash Top Defroster Rings, Air Vent Diverter Caps set of 4, Door Opener Pin Trimmers Chrome. I think that's all the "extra" chrome I'm going to add to the interior.

Next is saving up for the pulley, CAI & MTH file. That should be plenty enough to hold me over until the next round which will take a while.
