will car covers cause spotlights to rust?
Wondering why some have rusting problems with their rally lights aka driving spotlights and others don't. Even when in the same state and city. Can anyone shine some light on what causing rusting. And how to prevent it. Also, will using an outdoor car cover be helpful or cause them to start rusting?
car covers are effective if you car is completely dry.
don't use a car cover right after you wash your car unless you drive
it around the block or two to rid the water. i run a dehumidifier in my
garage after a wash.

if the car's dry under the cover, i would leave it on in the rain.
during hail season, you can even put a layer of foam under the cover
where it would be over the bonnet and roof.
it's pita to put on,
but worth the extra hassle especially if you're not going to drive the
car during the week.
