MC to MSC questions..

I have been searching for more power in my MC and it seems that it would be more cost effective to switch to a MCS.

My 05 MC was purchased new with no options at all added. It came out to be almost $19k total out of the door. I was looking at KBB and it says the private party value is $20,070 for my car with almost 8k miles and in "good" condition. Is KBB value right? I knew the MINI's held their value pretty well but I was expecting it to me less. It seems kind of odd, especially now since there are a lot more MINI's around. I would even be EXTREMELY happy if I could get around 18K for it to put towards a new MCS.

It seems like going the route of a new car is cheaper than buying used even now.

With that, can anyone approximately guess(!), how much money I would have to put in, on top of my current MC, to get an optionless MCS?

Seems MINI's may be one of the best investments ever. That and Harley's.

PS
I looked up KBB and got the same price for the 05 MC 5 speed with 8000 miles.

Classic Gave me $16k for an 05 MC with 12k miles. (18,100 new) I got my 04 MCS with 32k for $17.8 or so. rather well optioned MCS, nothing special, but a nice package for the price, nonetheless.

id look for a good used one, its well worth it, versus a brand new one (mine fully specced was about $26k)

I wouldn't mind used but I would want a 05 at least for the transmision. And most people with MSC usually have it all modded already bringing the price higher than a optioness new MCS. What do you guys think?

ADD:
what do you think about how Kelly blue book values car? Does it seem about right to you or higher?

And I would probably only be able to do this in the summer of '06 (save up money) So going at my current rate I would have about 16k miles. So I just checked the KBB price for a 04 MC and it is about $18,900 for 16kmiles right now.
