chips

complain, get it out of your system... I have a fair number of chips on my 2/2005 S already... Just the cost of driving and enjoying the car.. funny thing is that when I stopped checking and worrying about the chip factor, I enjoyed the car more and seemed to get less chips... No really I think it is that I got most of the chips during the end of last winter... When the hood gets really chipped up, you could do a group buy on carbon fiber hoods?

Did you have anysort of Protection on your MINI, like a clear Bra?

Or is where the chips are at not really matter?
I feel for you even thogh you know it will happen sometime it still hurts to see it happen

Give Glenn Anderson a call at Accuguard, he is located in Tamarac, FL. He installs the BEST cleabra in the market right now: VentuShield. I have it in my '05 MCS for about 4 months and not a single problem

Here is his website and contact info:

www.accuguard.biz

If you want my name, send me a PM as he gives special pricing to MINI owners.

Unless you do something about it, it will continue to happen. Oh and don't drive too close to other cars or follow trucks/dump trucks. It helps.

Those clear bras are expensive. Just cant lay out the $500 for it. Now i need new tires..22,000. And I only get bothered by the chips when I stand in my driveway and admire it. I never think about it when I drive.

Its all those dirt, and rock and fill trucks. I do ALOT of highway driving and there everywhere. I got in a mess of them on I-95 last week had to be 10 of them. I had to go 90 for a while just to loose them.

If a kid throws a rock at my Mini I chase him down. We call the cops and he gets in trouble. 70-80 MPH spitting rocks at cars in there wake and its just ooo there just trying to make a living. I say F them. If there cant keep rocks from flying off there truck then they dont belong on our highway system.

Now I'm all worked up again. I need to take a drive and calm down. I'll be back later.

I know that I got most of my chips while doing spirited driving with some of my MINI buddies, run, run, run. So, the chips I have are badges and remembrances of the events. When I look at them I am , but then I remember why and I am .

On the other hand I have a few scratches from where the MINI dealer replaced the windshield when I had a stress crack. Unfortunately for me, I didn;t notice them until a few days afterwards, so I figured it was worthless to go back and discuss it with them.

Go back and "discuss" it with them. If the scratches were caused by replacing the windshield they should fix them.

At least maybe they'll use a little more care on the next windshield replacement
