Go-Kart Tracks

Has anyone been to the Fredericksburg track and is it worth while going to? I think it is along route 3. Does anyone have better directions? Are there any others in the DC area?

Don't know much in your area... but if you're ever in Chicagoland, you have to checkout Chicago Indoor Racing http://www.chicagoindoorracing.com/

They have several tracks and you dress up in racing uni's complete with helmet and neck support! I've done it once (it's not cheap ) and it was a blast!! I jumped in my MCc afterwards and realized driving the MINI was better

Here's a link for you - I think the DCMM club tried coordinating an event there but fell short of the minimum # for a group event.

Haven't heard about one in Fredricksburg. Is that closer to you than NoVA?

Thanks for the replies. Chicago sounds great, but it would be a bit much for a day trip. Fredericksburg is about a 1.5 hour trip from Southern Maryland and rt. 618 is one way of getting there. It isn't the Dragon, but it still a thrill. Richmond would be a nice drive also and we haven't been there for a while.

Motor On! Safely!!

studtke,

I'm surprised you posted such a "localized" question in the MINI Talk forum! Head on over to the DCMM forum, and check it out - lots of good DC stuff there. And if you're not a member yet, consider joining.

I've heard rumblings at some more recent events that it might get resurrected too...

I belong to DCMM as well as PhillyMini and a few others. I also try to get together with MINI-owners at Pax River, but it seems that they are all too busy to join me for a soda somewhere.
