hi everyone,
i found this photo while looking at mini pics on google... it looks sort of baby blue-ish but do you think it could just be silver with weird lighting or electric blue with wierd lighting... i dont think it is either but i certainly wish this color was available cause i'd get rid of mine and get that one in a second...

Actually, I'm pretty sure that what you're looking at is a Silk Green Cooper with weird lighting.
It couldn't be electric blue since it's a standard Cooper, not an "S".

Everyone welcome Candy Blue:

The MINI dealers actually should have a minature of this color. Knauz in Chicago does.

Here's the other new one:

Anyone know if this is the cardoba biege interior? For some reason it looks different to me than any of the other pics I've seen. Also, are the two new colors going to be S or Cooper specific?

The light blue (called Candy Blue) was a pre-production model, and only a few were made. I'm pretty sure there are no plans to release this color (not in the near future, at least). Supposedly the gold will be replacing silk green in March. Personally, I think the candy blue is a MUCH better color than the gold, which I find pretty ugly and completely unsuitable for the MINI but hey, that's just my opinion.

Does this mean that they haved spared Velvet Red from the chopping block? Poor, poor Silk Green. Such a lovely color. Such a young age. I have really liked ALL of the MINI colors except for the Candy Blue.

Now when are they going to put out an Orange? Hopefully in a few years when we trade in our second car for an MCS

My dealer heard that they may still be getting it. Whether that's reliable that info or not is the question.

I also read in MINI2.com that Candy Blue has been given the ax and will not make it into final production. I find myself liking more and more the new Gold metallic color but only with a contrasting black roof.

I like most current MINI colors and wish that Pepper White would also be offered in the MCS. Velvet Red is tooo dark for my tastes and BRG is not the real thing as the legitimate BRG color was not a metallic paint and had a very different shade of green to it.

Pepper White is easily the most ever rated color of the lot. One of the reasons I think it look sso good on the Cooper is it's contrast to all the Chrome. I think you might loose some of that feel on the MCS. Nevertheless it would look good.

Pepper white with black roof looks tasty, like oreo ice cream.

I'm with you...I originally ordered the BRG. I thought it was the perfect color for a little British sports car. When I saw it in the sun, though, it was a little lighter and "greener" than I wanted, and I switched to black. I agree with Cooper4us, I think a true, non-metalic dark BRG would be beautiful...especially with a tan interior. Alas, I ended up going with black-on-black in my MCS.

By the way, I think they're painting my car today or tomorrow. Won't be long now...

I don't think Velvet Red was ever on the chopping block. It is a "new" color itself, along with pepper white, neither of which were available at launch but were added later on.

It is too bad about the silk green, I think that's a great and pretty unique color. I like all of the colors also. There are quite a few I woulkd never get myself, but I still think they look great and fit the MINI well. Except for the gold that is, as I said before, I really don't like the gold, especially on a MINI. But hey, to each his own. I agree that an orange would be great too. Again, I don't think I'd actually get an orange MINI, but I think it would be a good color.

I agree, I love the pepper white, and I think that the chrome really makes it look classy. about the chrome, I read over on MINI2, that as of march 03, they will be offering the chrome grill as an option on the MCS. I dont know if thats official or not, and I dont know if thats europe only.

I would say that I love my silver Cooper....

Oh well....

PLEASE...don't let the gold rumor be true! I think it's hideous! Why would MINI do this? The other colors are so pretty!

It is and it's coming. Your local dealer should already have the color chip.

Amen! Alf! That gold is too bold! (I'm a poet)! but really, I currently have what Honda calls a Gold Accord 2 door coup and it is a soft, twilight, sunset type gold color. I would like this color gold on the MINI with either the white or black top!

However, The gold in the photo may not be the same as the gold in person!!!

I agree 100% with Cooper4us - that the gold it would look good with the black roof!! I personally like contrasting colors and I can't see that shade of gold with a white roof!!
